DISTRICT SPEECH UPDATE: Minden has pushed 15 of their 20 events into the finals! More details to come later! Top three in each event head on to state!
This group of talented speakers will be heading to the B5 District Speech Meet tomorrow morning, March 9, in Gothenburg. The top three speakers in each event will advance to the Nebraska State Speech Tournament on March 20.
High School Cheer practice and tryouts are as follows:
Practice for Tryouts: Monday March 11th and Wednesday March 13th (6:45-7:45pm)
Tryouts: Friday March 15th at 6pm.
**All of these events will take place in the activities gym.

The Lady Whippets came up short to Bridgeport 65-57 today at the state tournament. While it was a disappointing end to the season, we are so proud of the great season from the girls. They finished at 20-4 overall!!! Great season Whippets!!!

The speech team had two great days of speech recently. Saturday, they won the Voices of the Plains Invite in both the varsity and combined division. We had 6 novice champs and 3 varsity champs. Monday, the team earned the runner-up plaque at the SWC meet with 3 event champs!
Congratulations to the Whippet Speech Team on a great day at the Southwest Conference Speech Meet! The team finished as the SWC Runner Up!! Individual champions included Nathan Althouse (Entertainment), Sam Cederburg (Extemporaneous), and Nathan Althouse/Sophia Cederberg/Addison Klabunde/Dawson Conyers/Elizabeth Hunt (OID). GREAT JOB WHIPPET SPEECH TEAM!!!

The Girls' basketball team will play Bridgeport on Thursday, February 29th, at 10:45 in Lincoln. Due to the high number of students and staff attending this game, we will not have school on Thursday. If we win, we will not have school on Friday. If we lose, we will have school.

The official Girls State Basketball Championship bracket is now released. The Whippets will play Bridgeport on Thursday 29th at the Devaney Center in Lincoln. Game time is 10:45am. DISTRICT RUNNER UP!!!What a way to end the season for the Whippet Boys Basketball team! They made it to the District Final or Sweet 16 of the season!!! We lost to a really talented Ashland Greenwood today 59-39 but we can be proud of the players and coaches for this season!! Thanks for all of the support the community showed our boys this season!!!
