STATE VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONS PARADE CELEBRATION!
We are inviting the whole community of Minden to join us in a celebration of our State Champion Volleyball Team on Wednesday November 8th at 4pm downtown on the square. We will have a short Champions Walk (parade) starting on the corner of 5th and N Colorado and going around the square one time where they will then stop at the Opera House. The mayor, coaches, and players will speak from the balcony. We invite everyone who is able to line the sidewalks around the square to cheer on our girls as they make the Champions Walk!
Following the parade the Tribland Tailgate Sports Show will be broadcasting from Minden High School in the commons. During their show, they will highlight the Whippet Volleyball team and interview players and coaches. This show is scheduled to start at 5pm and any parents or supporters are welcome to come and watch the show in the commons as well. Here is a link to the Tribland Sports Tailgate Show website:

The State Champion Volleyball team will be at East Elementary on Tuesday 7th in the morning from 7:30am until school starts to celebrate their championship with the East kids as they come to school! They will have their gold championship medals as well as the State Championship Trophy! Parents are welcome to walk in with their kids if they want to take pictures with their child with players and the trophy!! The players will be located in the front hallway of the East main entrance!

Words cannot express my gratitude for these two!! Having a good activities director is so important. These two aren't just good though. They are great!! They have been there whenever I have needed something the past 5 years. They have offered me wisdom and advice and listened sometimes through my tears. I was a little anxious when Mr. Rowse decided to retire, but Mr. Strong made a seamless transition which I am so thankful for. Both are such positive leaders in our school. This trophy is definitely shared with them. Minden Public Schools is so lucky to have you.
When asked by the media on Saturday about Coach Rowse, I said that without him I would not be standing here today with a championship trophy. He has had such an impact on my life. He taught me more than X's & O's. He taught me about pouring your heart and soul into something and working hard despite not always seeing the fruit of your labor. I never thought I had what it took to be a head coach. I always thought I was best in a supporting role. He taught me that I could. His legacy on Minden Volleyball will last forever.
Thanks again to both of you!! I am forever grateful.

5 MHS Band members are spending the day at Doane University for the Fall Festival for Winds. Out of a pool of 340 students, 200 from across the state were selected to be a part of this event. They will perform in a concert this afternoon.

The Whippets play for a state championship tomorrow against Kearney Catholic at 3pm at the Devaney Sports Center! What an amazing come back win against Gothenburg in the semi finals!! We will be the visiting team for the finals match tomorrow. See the attached photos for the seating chart at Devaney as well as the celebration when moving our school to the finals spot on the official bracket!!! NEVER GIVE UP!!!!

State Volleyball Semi Finals Update: The Whippets will play on the NORTH Court Friday at 3pm! We will also be the HOME team for this match as we are the higher seed. The seating map is attached for everyone's reference. We hope to see all of Whippet Nation down in Lincoln to support our team! Lets make the PBA a sea of purple!!!
