The Whippet high school winter sports season kicks off on Monday 20th as we host Aurora for the basketball varsity jamboree games. The girls game is slated to start at 5:00pm and the boys to follow. As a reminder, all jamboree games are sponsored by the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame. As a result, NO PASSES can be accepted for admission so all in attendance must pay regular admission. We hope to see everyone on Monday evening to catch a sneak peek of our basketball teams!

Reminder-Monday, Nov. 20th: 7-8th Wrestling is at GINW at 5 pm. Girls 7-8th basketball will play in the CLJ gym at 4:30. the 8th grade will play the A game and the 7th grade will play the B game. We will then have an intra squad scrimmage so all get to play.
The Foods classes are continuing their study of diversity in foods. Yesterday Maria Segura (exchange student from Spain) demonstrated how to make one of her favorite dishes from back home, a Spanish Potato and Onion Omelet. It proved to be FUN to make, and very Yummy!

HIGH SCHOOL WINTER SPORTS PARENT MEETING REMINDER!
This is a reminder that we have our parent meetings for high school girls and boys basketball as well as girls and boys wrestling scheduled for Monday November 13th. There will not be a whole group meeting before the coaches meetings this year. When you enter the high school you will be directed to the appropriate room for your child's sport. Meetings begin at 6:30 PM!

NEW BASKETBALL RULES REMINDER:
This is a reminder for all high school basketball fans that the rules regarding fouls and free throws has changed. Effective for this season and moving forward, there will no longer be a 1 and 1 free throw for bonus. The new rule states starting with the 5th foul of each quarter, the team will shoot 2 free throws. This is in effect for both high school and middle school basketball games.

MPS Will be hosting the annual Veterans Day Program on Friday November 10th at 9am in the High School gymnasium. FCCLA is once again hosting breakfast beginning at 7:30am.
