In just four short years, Minden FFA has become a nationally ranked 2-star chapter through the National FFA Organization! We will be recognized on stage at the National FFA Convention in October.
Middle school football meeting and uniform checkout for any 7th and 8th grade students interested in playing will be Thursday 8/15 from 3:30-4:15. First team practice will be Monday 8/19.
We're excited to see you at East Elementary's open house. This is for all students in grades through kindergarten through third grade this evening from 5:00-6:30. This evening you can meet your teacher, take a fun picture, drop off your supplies, and take a scavenger hunt/tour around the building.
Due to the progress of construction the open house at CLJMS will be postponed to a later date. We will provide updated information on the open house as soon as it's available.

The MHS Band has been hard at work the last 2 days preparing for the Fall marching band season! Band camp continues next week on Monday and Tuesday.
Weekly Update:
*August 5th and 6th-Kindergarten Jumpstart for all incoming kindergarten students Say goodbye to your child at the front doors of East Elementary at 8:00, and hear all about their fun time at the front doors of East Elementary at 11:00 each day. Parents can see the classrooms at our open house time on August 8th-we promise!:). Students should bring a backpack and filled water bottle. This opportunity is optional.
*Open House for all K-3rd grade students will be from 5:00-6:30 on August 8th. Meet your homeroom teacher and tour around the building using our scavenger hunt guide. A welcome to school photo opportunity will be available so bring your camera if you'd like.
*The first day of school is August 13th. Before school to do's: gather school supplies, join schoology, complete powerschool forms(1st through 3rd graders), practice your morning routine, if necessary fill out a free/reduced lunch form, download the Minden Whippets app., and email sandy.pohl@mindenwhippets.org with questions.

High School Fall Sports Parent Meetings Monday August 12th beginning at 7:00pm!
The High School Fall sports parent meetings are scheduled for Monday August 12th at 7:00pm. Families will be able to purchase activity tickets as well as get important information. If your child will be participating in high school football, volleyball, girls golf, or cross country you will need to attend these meetings. There will be a whole group meeting in the theater beginning at 7pm followed by individual sport meetings with coaches.

The Minden Volleyball Team won the Nebraska Top 10 Team Camp for the 2nd straight year with a set record of 22-4. This camp brings some of Nebraska's best volleyball teams together for 2 days of intense competition. While it is obviously physically fatiguing, it is just as much mentally challenging. We were very proud of their resilience and belief in each other throughout the tournament. Whippet Nation, we can't wait to see you at our home invite on August 31st. Go Whippets!! 💜🏐💜
Hooray, hooray one week from today is our kindergarten jumpstart(optional)! Jumpstart begins on August 5th at 8 with drop off being at the front doors of East Elementary. Parents can pick up their child at 11 at the front doors at the conclusion of jumpstart. This is for kindergarten students only on August 5th and 6th.
Reminder: Open house for East Elementary is August 8th from 5:00-6:30. A Card My Yard photo opportunity will be on the front lawn. The first day of school is August 13th.
