Members of the FFA chapter competed in Leadership Development Contests today in Aurora. We are proud of all of our FFA members and the hard work they put into their contests. Today, there were four individuals and one team qualify for the state FFA contest in March!

The boys wrestling dual at Central City initially scheduled for Thursday 1/19 has been rescheduled to Tuesday January 31st with a 6:00pm start time.
The girls portion of the dual at Central City has been CANCELLED.
The Whippet boys wrestling team started off then UNK Midwest Duals with a win over Kearney Catholic. Next up is Norton (KS) followed by the class A #1 ranked Millard South. The girls are also competing in Lexington today. Good luck to both teams!
Middle School Parent-Teacher Conference Sign-Up Information
Minden Public Schools will not have school tomorrow, Thursday, January 19th. Road conditions are dangerous and more snow and wind is expected into the evening. There will be no activities at the school tomorrow and no evening events. Please be careful, and stay safe.
The 7th and 8th grade boys basketball games vs. Cozad initially scheduled for Thursday 19th have been rescheduled to Tuesday January 31st. 7th grade will still play at Minden and 8th at Cozad.
Minden Public Schools will not have school tomorrow, January 18th, due to the impending weather. This storm could produce a large amount of snow and high wind. Please be safe.
The Whippet Band had 2 students participate in the Kearney Underclassmen Honor Band today! Carmin and Addison were selected for the Wind Ensemble and spent the day with other students rehearsing music to prepare for a concert.
REMINDER: Registrations for the kids cheer camp are due Wednesday January 18th by the end of the school day in order to guarantee a t-shirt. Late sign-ups will be accepted.
The Southwest Conference Tournament opening round has been set. The Whippet girls basketball team is the #2 see and will host McCook on Tuesday 24th with a 6:00pm start time. The boys basketball team will travel to Gothenburg on Tuesday 24th and are slated for a 7:00pm opening tip.

Mrs. Maulsby's 8th grade students participated in the 22-23 VFW Patriot's Pen essay contest. Congrats to Parker Hatch 1st place local chapter contest & district finalist (top 5 of 163 entries). Congrats local chapter winners- Caleb Schwenka 2nd place,Jon Althouse 3rd place, Gabbie Lee 4th place. Way to go Whippets!
