Juniors and Seniors- Prom 2023
Four MHS Whippet Band members participated in the Class B All State Band event held at Grand Island Northwest today! Alexis, Abby, and Luke took part in the Symphonic Band and Evan was a part of the Jazz Band.

2023 - Minden vs Kearney Catholic Duel - Athletes of the Week
Girls Track & Field - Addison Klabunde
*** Addison Klabunde (So) brings a positive attitude and outstanding work ethic to practice every day. She got her season off to a great start on Thursday at the Minden & Kearney Catholic Duel. Addison won the Shot Put with a put of 29’ 10 ¼” adding 4 ½ feet to her Personal Best. Addison equaled her performance in the Discus Throw by adding over 5’ to her Personal Best with a winning throw of 92’ 8 ¾”. We are very proud of Addison and excited to watch her continued success in the throws.
Boys Track & Field - Austin Lutkemeier
*** Austin Lutkemeier (Jr) has been putting in extra work, working hard in the weight room and is looking to have a great junior season. Austin won the discus throw just 2’ feet off his Personal Best with a throw of 130’ 3”. His work really showed up in the Shot Put by earning a 2nd place, spinning to a Personal Best in 47’ 5 1/2”. We are excited to see what the future holds this season for Austin as bigger throws are coming.

The Art Club had a great trip to Omaha today. Students got to visit galleries and take in a glassblowing demonstration at The Hot Shops!

We had our basketball banquet tonight, and it was so great to get everyone together again.

I’m so proud of these 21 girls. Every single girl improved so much, and we are really looking forward to next season!
We will definitely miss out three hard-working and dedicated seniors so much, but they have shown us what it takes to be successful, and we are forever grateful!

2023 - UNK Invite - Athletes of the Week
Girls Track & Field - Makenna Starkey
*** Makenna Starkey (So) kicked off the 2023 season at the UNK Invite with a huge Personal Best in the Class A/B High Jump at 5’2” leading a Minden Whippet 1-2-3 finish. She came back later in the meet leading off the 4x400m relay in a 64.9 split helping the relay team to a 2nd place finish in 4:26.53.
Boys Track & Field - Sam Cederburg
*** Sam Cederburg (So) had a huge week. On Wednesday he earned a 5th place medal at State Speech in Extemporaneous. On Friday, Sam was able to showcase his winter of hard work by winning the UNK Invite Class A/B 3200m in 10:50.19. This was a 36 second PR and his first time winning gold in track & field.

These Whippets had a great day in Gothenburg for the SWC Fine Arts Festival. The SWC art teachers selected Kinsie Land's artwork titled "Pascal" as the top piece of art from Minden.
SWC Art/Band/Choir Festival is tomorrow in Gothenburg and a group of 33 students will be attending the event. The day will conclude with a concert and art award show. SWC Passes are accepted and the concert will be streamed on the Gothenburg Activities Youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj5dbm_xoqk
