MPS continues to be one of the top 3 districts in our array for teacher and support staff salaries, wages, and benefits.
Mission
Minden Public Schools, with the community, strives to develop productive and responsible citizens through an environment that empowers them to seek, understand, and appreciate learning.
Vision
Minden Public Schools will prepare all students for life by providing a challenging curriculum (RIGOR) that connects students' lives to their future (RELEVANCE) in a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment (RELATIONSHIP).
Values
Minden Public Schools understands the importance of professional development. Today’s classroom is far different from the one many teachers, parents, and business professionals encountered during their education. Advances in technology and expanding jobs are two examples of change in education. Beyond the need for rigorous curriculum and differentiated instruction is the need for problem-solving skills. Our students must be equipped to think differently and have the flexibility to survive in today’s world. Therefore, professional development has become increasingly important as we prepare our staff to meet the needs of the 21st-century learner. By providing systematic professional development, Minden Public Schools will create a learning culture for students and adults.
"I love that my children attend MPS! The school is large enough that they have the opportunities of a bigger school district but small enough that it feels like a family." Mrs. Sandy Pohl, Elementary Principal
"I love teaching at MPS because of the supportive environment. Our administration, school board, and community are all invested in public education in Minden. Knowing that the community supports what we do makes Minden a great place to teach!" Mr. Aaron Martin, H.S. Social Studies Teacher
"MPS is not only a wonderful place to grow your career; it is a spectacular school for your own family. After 26 years of employment with MPS, I can say I wouldn't have wanted to spend my career anywhere else, and I am so glad my own four children had their entire K-12 education at MPS." Mr. Jeffrey Horner, H.S. Counselor
